About OtterQuest

OtterQuest

OtterQuest was created in 1999 by me, Danaan, as a way to increase environmental awareness and stewardship by exploring otters and their habitats.

Over the years I have seen otters in the wild and had opportunities to visit a number of facilities that have otters, in the Interactions pages I share some of those experiences. I look forward to hearing about some of your experiences with otters too.

A big part of OtterQuest is the public information/ awareness program: *OtterQuest web site *Research *Festivals *School programs *Community Presentations *Activity Pages

The web site has sections covering otter species worldwide (including distribution maps), the natural history of otters, current and historical otter research, otters in the news, personal interactions, multimedia, pic galleries, activities, events, resources and links, and even a few games too.

Danaan

Hi! My name is Danaan. I am a university student, studying Biology (specifically Ecology) and Anthropology. I have been interested in (and exposed to) the natural world as long as I can remember, and otters just slightly less than that.

I recently had the opportunity to study for a quarter in Brazil (see pic to the left), it was great! While I was there I got some good footage of the Giant Otter! Look for that video in the Interactions section.

If you see anything on the pages that is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact me so that I can update the site.

On the site I've also included a few pages of some of my other interests and travels.
